EdidCraft display tools

An online EDID editor, decoder and validator in one workspace

Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) describes a display’s identity and advertised capabilities. EdidCraft helps you read that data, prepare an edited file, and check its structure before using it in a display or AV workflow.

What is the difference between reading and editing EDID?

A decoder explains the bytes already present in a file. An editor changes the capabilities that the file advertises, while a generator builds a new file from display settings. A validator checks supported structural and standards rules. None of these operations measures what a physical display can actually support.

How do I get an EDID file?

Export it with your operating system, display driver or an EDID capture utility, then open the file here. A normal web page cannot read a connected monitor’s raw EDID directly. The Decoder accepts complete 128-byte EDID blocks, up to the format’s 32 KiB limit, and also accepts pasted hexadecimal data.

Are the tools free, and where is my file processed?

The current decoder, editor, validator and timing calculator are free to use. EDID decoding, encoding, validation and timing calculations use the EdidCraft processing service; the tools do not process everything solely inside your browser.
